1. Kakawa Artisan Chocolate

Kakawa Artisan was born in the midst of the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, the brainchild of a sweet-toothed businessman looking to make his dream a reality. With over 200 handmade chocolate products included in their collection, Kakawa Artisan is firmly positioned to become one of the leading names within the independent chocolate market in the UK.

2. Quirky Gift Library
Based in: Edinburgh, UK

In 2008, Sandra, a graphic designer from Edinburgh, combined two of her favourite things: design and chocolate. And so, Quirky Gift Library was born, specialising in personalised chocolate bars that are perfect for gifting. What's more, they use Fairtrade and sustainable chocolate in all their products. So, not only do they taste good, but they do some good along the way, too, by ensuring the farmers who produce the cocoa for their products are paid fairly for their work.
Quirky Gift Library has now grown into a flourishing small business that creates amazing designs and collaborates with talented independent illustrators, designers, and creatives.
3. CC’s Chocolate Creations
Based in: Ayrshire, UK

According to founder CC, her company was born 'almost by accident' after a trip to a chocolate factory with her son. Having been diagnosed with coeliac, CC was on a mission to make gluten-free, coeliac-safe chocolate.
Following some experimentation with different chocolate moulds and flavours, she succeeded. CC's Chocolate Creations has since gone on to win a Scottish Business Award for Best Creative Business in Ayrshire, and has progressed in leaps and bounds despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
''Interestingly most of my customers do not require a gluten-free diet', says CC, 'in fact, most of them are unaware that my business is 100% gluten-free, and I take this as the highest compliment there is. To me, it means I got it right.'
4. Dimensions // Fellow creatures

There was only one mission that Zsolt set for himself, to bring a selection of creamy chocolate products to the shelves aimed at vegans. His goal: to replicate the sweet flavours of his childhood, and bring that nostalgia to customers, so they could share in the joy of a scrumptious bar of chocolate.
Totally delicious, and cruelty-free to boot, Fellow Creatures packs all the flavour, without the exploitation, helping mother cows live their best lives. With flavours ranging from smooth hazelnut, salted caramel, and raspberry white chocolate, to a more unusual matcha chocolate bar — there's loads of choice to be found in this fun collection. They even do vegan chocolate spreads!

Based in: Bristol, UK

Established in 2016, this Bristol-based small family business sells a wide range of sweet gifts that cater to a range of dietary needs, including gluten-free, halal, and vegan treats. Specialising in fudge, their impressive range of chocolate slabs, baking kits, and selection boxes for all occasions offer just the thing for anyone with a sweet tooth.
6. Creative Chocoart
Based in: Liverpool, UK

With over 22 years of experience in the hospitality industry and a passion for chocolate, pastry chef and chocolatier Sarah Mountain channelled her creativity into Creative Chocoart, a Luxury Artisan Chocolate Business. Inspired by her late grandfather, a professional chef himself, Sarah has produced a colourful collection of selection boxes and eye-catching chocolate bars in a range of delicious flavours.
Featured in Elite Traveller Magazine in 2018, Sarah was named as one of the Top 14 Female Chefs in the UK, and was crowned the Snack Master Champion in December 2020 after competing against chocolatier Paul A Young in Channel 4's Snackmasters. Impressive stuff!
